  • Tethers attached to the tip brace for speed control and help turn shape
  • Riding a bi-ski and using outriggers to control speed
  • A ski walker

PROGRAMS: SUMMER

We wanted to have a program where our students could come up to Ski Apache in the summer for an outdoor experience. They would stay at the ski area, camp, cook out, have story tellers and other entertainment. Bonito Park was contacted about using their recreation facilities.

All this was going to be set up with a minimum expense to the program. Food and lodging could be donated and making the arrangements and setting things up seemed the only major hurtle.

But! Things Changed.

We are cutting back on expenses where ever we can. We need to make sure the winter program is always there.

FUTURE HOPES:
We hope to make the gondola "accessible" through a grant. We will have a ramp at the top and a trail so visitors in a wheelchair can not only ride to the top, but explore around on a trail for wheelchairs. (The rumor is the gondola will be replaced soon... and the rumor starts here!!!!)

Reach Out to Potential Skiers:
Tracy's fund, is for those who want to ski but can't get here. From veterans hospitals to institutions and individuals, we will use this fund to arrange transportation and get lodging at reduced rates. In other words make it easy on them.
